The Haven Homes project aims to convince large-scale real estate developers to build Broad Appeal Specialty Housing (BASH) to reduce problems caused by growing homeownership costs.
To prove the BASH concept, we are building homes that model how specialty features can be cost-effectively incorporated into new commercial multi-family as well as existing residential housing, creating homes that are lifechanging to certain people, yet still appeal to a general audience.
For our first housing projects, we focused on two specialties: trauma-informed housing and pet-friendly housing.
To that end, we followed principles of trauma-informed design to make homes that can help their inhabitants feel better and heal. Furthermore, we developed several new animal-centric architectural concepts that benefit not just the people and pets who will live in these homes, but also the property owners, making these features financially viable for rental properties and affordable housing projects.

A safe, relaxing group home for women undergoing long-term care for trauma. Designed for health, harmony, and happiness with emphasis on natural materials, art immersion, and animal companionship.

Small apartments with nearly all the features of a full home, sized for a single individual. Designed especially for women recovering from trauma who wish to live on their own or with 1-3 cats.
